Product Description

1. Product Overview

Endress+Hauser FMB53 is a hygienic hydrostatic submersible level transmitter from Endress+Hauser’s Deltapilot series, specially designed for continuous hydrostatic liquid level measurement in sanitary industrial environments. It calculates liquid level by measuring hydrostatic pressure generated by liquid column above the sensing diaphragm. As liquid height changes, the corresponding hydrostatic pressure varies, and the internal high-precision pressure sensor converts pressure variation into standard electrical signal to realize real-time continuous level monitoring. Unlike radar-type level instruments, FMB53 measurement is free from foam, vapor, medium dielectric constant fluctuation and tank internal installation obstacles.

2. Structural & Sanitary Features

All wetted parts of FMB53 adopt high-quality 316L stainless steel material with polished seamless surface without dead leg, fully compatible with on-site CIP/SIP cleaning and high-temperature sterilization. Multiple hygienic process connections are optional: Tri-clamp, DIN11851, aseptic thread and sanitary flange, complying with EHEDG, 3A and FDA sanitary certification standards required by food and pharmaceutical industries. The transmitter housing reaches IP68 protection grade, fully resistant to liquid immersion, splash, moisture and workshop dust, suitable for harsh sanitary production environment. The submersible probe structure can be directly immersed into liquid medium for stable detection.

3. Electrical & Communication Configuration

Standard output: 4–20mA analog signal with superimposed HART protocol. Users can complete remote parameter configuration, range calibration and fault diagnosis via HART hand communicator or DCS control system. Optional PROFIBUS PA / FOUNDATION Fieldbus digital communication versions are available for access to automatic centralized control system. Working power supply ranges from 12VDC to 36VDC DC, matching conventional industrial site power supply specification. SIL2 functional safety certification is available for safety interlock loop level measurement occasions.

4. Measurement Performance & Working Condition

  • Measuring range: customizable from 0.1m up to 10m liquid column according to actual tank height;
  • Measurement accuracy: typical ±0.2%FS ~ ±0.5%FS;
  • Process medium temperature: -20℃ ~ +150℃, supports short-time high temperature SIP sterilization;
  • Process pressure: from atmospheric pressure up to 25bar;
    Measuring result keeps stable regardless of changes in medium density, viscosity and suspended solids inside liquid.

5. Application Industries

Mainly used for sanitary level measurement in food & beverage, dairy, pharmaceutical, bio-fermentation, edible oil, cosmetics and fine chemical industries.
