Endress+Hauser FMB51 belongs to Deltapilot M series hydrostatic level transmitter. It measures liquid level based on hydrostatic pressure principle: the built-in Contite pressure sensor detects liquid column pressure and converts pressure signal into standard electrical output for continuous level monitoring.
Wetted parts are available in stainless steel, with multiple process connections including thread and flange to fit open tanks and closed vessels. Standard signal is 4-20mA with HART protocol for easy calibration and remote debugging. Optional PROFIBUS PA is available for digital control system access.
With stable performance against foam, condensation and medium viscosity variation, FMB51 is widely used in wastewater, chemical, water supply and general industrial storage tank level measurement. SIL2 certification can be selected for safety-related process applications.

Product Description

1. Product Overview

Endress+Hauser FMB51 is a conventional industrial hydrostatic level transmitter of Deltapilot M series, adopting mature hydrostatic liquid column measurement principle. The built-in patented Contite closed measuring cell senses hydrostatic pressure produced by liquid height; as liquid level rises or falls, pressure acting on sensor changes accordingly. The transmitter converts pressure changes into standardized electrical signals to realize continuous real-time level monitoring for open tanks and closed pressure vessels. Thanks to unique Contite fully sealed sensing structure, the instrument effectively isolates medium erosion, foam impact and condensate interference, greatly improving long-term operational stability under complicated working conditions.

2. Structure & Material Feature

Wetted components mainly adopt high-quality 316L stainless steel as standard material; customized alloy options are available for corrosive chemical medium. Multiple process connections including threaded, flange and bulkhead fittings can be selected to match different tank installation requirements. The compact transmitter housing features IP67 protection grade, capable of resisting dust, splash and damp workshop environment, adapting to indoor and outdoor industrial installation scenarios. The integral sealed sensor structure avoids medium infiltration inside core components and lowers maintenance frequency.

3. Electrical Parameter & Communication

Standard output configuration is 4–20mA analog signal with superimposed HART communication protocol. Operators can finish range setting, zero calibration and fault diagnosis remotely via HART handheld communicator or DCS control system. Optional PROFIBUS PA digital communication version supports access to intelligent factory centralized control system. Nominal supply voltage ranges from 12VDC to 36VDC DC, complying with universal industrial field power supply standard. SIL2 functional safety certification is optional for level measurement of safety interlock loops in critical production processes.

4. Measuring Performance & Working Condition

  • Measuring range: customizable from 0.1m up to 10m liquid column on demand;
  • Accuracy: standard precision reaches ±0.2%FS ~ ±0.5%FS;
  • Applicable medium temperature: -40℃ ~ +120℃;
  • Working ambient temperature: -30℃ ~ +70℃;
    Measurement result is barely affected by fluctuation of medium density, viscosity and suspended solids, suitable for various ordinary and slightly corrosive liquid measurement.
