The Function of Valve Group

Valve groups have various functions in industrial applications, mainly including cutting off and conducting, balancing pressure, discharging and venting, etc. 12 Cut off and conduction effects

The globe valve in the valve group is mainly used to control the on/off of fluids. In the application of differential pressure transmitters, two shut-off valves respectively control the positive and negative pressure sides of the differential pressure transmitter. When it is necessary to stop measuring or perform maintenance, the measuring pipeline of the differential pressure transmitter can be cut off by closing the shut-off valve. Meanwhile, during the measurement process, opening the shut-off valve can ensure the continuity between the differential pressure transmitter and the measurement pipeline.

Balance pressure effect

The balance valve in the valve group is mainly used to balance the pressure on the positive and negative pressure sides of the differential pressure transmitter. During the measurement process, pressure fluctuations or temperature changes in the pipeline may cause pressure imbalance between the positive and negative pressure sides of the differential pressure transmitter, thereby affecting measurement accuracy. At this point, the pressure on both sides can be balanced by opening the balance valve to ensure measurement accuracy. Pollutant discharge and venting function

In some cases, impurities or liquids may accumulate in the measurement pipeline, which can affect the measurement accuracy of the differential pressure transmitter. At this point, the discharge or venting operation can be carried out by closing the shut-off valve and opening the balance valve to ensure the cleanliness and smoothness of the measuring pipeline.

Specific types and application scenarios

Valve groups can be divided into two valve groups, three valve groups, and five valve groups based on their composition. Two valve groups are typically used for direct connected gauge and absolute pressure transmitters, three valve groups are used for differential pressure and multivariable transmitters, and five valve groups are suitable for applications that require more complex control.

Pressure Transmitter FAQ

What is a pressure transmitter used for?

A pressure transmitter converts the pressure of liquid, gas or steam into a standard electrical signal for PLC, DCS, recorder or control instrument input. It is widely used for pipeline pressure, tank level, flow measurement and process safety monitoring.

How do I choose the right pressure transmitter?

Confirm the pressure range, pressure type, medium, temperature, output signal, accuracy, installation thread, electrical connection and environmental requirements. For corrosive media, high temperature or sanitary applications, diaphragm material and sealing structure are especially important.

What is the difference between gauge, absolute and differential pressure transmitters?

Gauge pressure transmitters measure pressure relative to atmospheric pressure. Absolute pressure transmitters measure pressure relative to vacuum. Differential pressure transmitters measure the pressure difference between two points and are commonly used for flow, filter and level measurement.

Can Xinyi Instrument provide customized pressure transmitters?

Yes. Xinyi Instrument can support customized pressure ranges, process connections, output signals, cable length, display options and model selection for different industrial applications.
