Product Description

Overview

The SITRANS P320/P420 series pressure transmitters are digital instruments characterized by a user-friendly interface and high accuracy. Parameters can be configured via local buttons or through HART fieldbus communication.

An extensive range of functions makes these pressure transmitters ideally suited to the needs of industrial plants. Despite the multitude of configuration options available, operation remains remarkably simple.

Leveraging advanced self-diagnostic functions compliant with the NAMUR NE107 standard, the SITRANS P320/P420 pressure transmitters are particularly well-suited for applications within the chemical industry. Their robust self-diagnostic capabilities—combined with the ability to store process variables—ensure that the SITRANS P420 is fully equipped to meet the demands of the "digital age."

The "Remote Safety Commissioning" feature delivers significant time and cost savings for customers, as SIL safety functions can be remotely enabled via SIMATIC PDM software. This eliminates the need for on-site travel and bypasses the steps typically required for local configuration using the device's buttons and display.

By integrating innovative EDD files into a Quick Start Wizard, the process of configuring parameters via the HART communication protocol has been made exceptionally simple and fast.

The transmitters can be connected to various types of remote seal assemblies, enabling their use in specialized applications—such as those involving highly viscous media.

Different models within the SITRANS P320/P420 series are available to measure:

• Gauge pressure

• Absolute pressure

• Differential pressure

• Level

• Volumetric flow

• Mass flow

Pressure Transmitter FAQ

What is a pressure transmitter used for?

A pressure transmitter converts the pressure of liquid, gas or steam into a standard electrical signal for PLC, DCS, recorder or control instrument input. It is widely used for pipeline pressure, tank level, flow measurement and process safety monitoring.

How do I choose the right pressure transmitter?

Confirm the pressure range, pressure type, medium, temperature, output signal, accuracy, installation thread, electrical connection and environmental requirements. For corrosive media, high temperature or sanitary applications, diaphragm material and sealing structure are especially important.

What is the difference between gauge, absolute and differential pressure transmitters?

Gauge pressure transmitters measure pressure relative to atmospheric pressure. Absolute pressure transmitters measure pressure relative to vacuum. Differential pressure transmitters measure the pressure difference between two points and are commonly used for flow, filter and level measurement.

Can Xinyi Instrument provide customized pressure transmitters?

Yes. Xinyi Instrument can support customized pressure ranges, process connections, output signals, cable length, display options and model selection for different industrial applications.
